Men’s issues are a particular specialty of mine and my associates; we have been working with men and masculinity for the past seven years. While we are familiar with the approaches of many different writers, we are most in sync with philosophy of Dr. Robert Glover, author of No More Mr. Nice Guy. His ideas strike a chord in a lot of men, and we have found them to be extremely useful and understanding and treating many of the men who have come to us.
(By the way, I am about to publish the companion workbook to No More Mr. Nice Guy, which should be out by late summer 2020. If you would like to find out more about Dr. Glover's work, go to his website at https://www.drglover.com/. )
To help men, we offer three platforms: individual therapy, weekly small groups, and a larger monthly workshop.
Individual therapy is conducted by Dr. David Perlman and Mark Stein, MA. Sessions are 45-50 minutes long. PPO insurance can help pay some of the cost.
Weekly groups: are run by Dr. David Perlman. The groups are 90 minutes long and are limited to 7 members. There are currently groups on Thursday evenings in West L.A. and Saturday mornings in Westwood, but other groups are planned. To find out more, talk directly with David to find out more. Monthly workshop: This is a 2 – 2 ½ hour open workshop I run personally. It is half didactic, half interactive. There are generally around 20 guys there, and it’s fun and loose. No reservations required, but RSVPs are encouraged. It costs $25 a session. To find out more about it, go to https://www.meetup.com/The-Re-Masculators-No-More-Mr-Nice-Guys/ and join the group. Then you can click on the upcoming meetings and RSVP.
